Thomson Geer strengthens Banking & Finance practice with appointment of Tricia Moloney as Partner

February 2, 2026

Thomson Geer has appointed Tricia Moloney as a Partner in its Banking & Finance practice, further strengthening the firm’s national capability in complex financing transactions across Australia and offshore markets.

Tricia brings more than 30 years’ experience advising on project, property, acquisition and corporate finance, as well as restructuring and insolvency. She has acted for both lenders and borrowers on some of Australia’s most significant and complex financing transactions and is recognised for her commercial, solutions-focused approach.

Chief Executive Partner Adrian Tembel said Tricia’s appointment reflects the firm’s continued investment in market-leading talent.

“Tricia is a highly respected banking and finance partner with deep experience across major transactions, institutional lending and alternative capital markets,” Adrian said. “Her strong technical capability, commercial mindset and collaborative approach make her an excellent fit for Thomson Geer and a valuable addition for our clients.”

Throughout her career, Tricia has led numerous large-scale transactions for top-tier domestic and international financial institutions, including ANZ, NAB, CBA, Westpac, Standard Chartered, JP Morgan, Sumitomo and HSBC. She also has extensive experience working with alternative capital providers and private credit markets.

Her experience includes advising the financiers to the successful consortium on the A$16.2 billion acquisition of Ausgrid, acting for financiers to large listed corporate groups on multiple corporate and syndicated facilities, advising on major sustainability-linked loans and capital markets issuances in the university sector, and advising on the financing and restructuring of landmark infrastructure projects including Marvel Stadium and the Adelaide to Darwin Railway.

Tricia has also advised extensively across the property sector, acting on residential, commercial and mixed-use developments throughout Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, and has a strong track record advising corporates across a broad range of industries.

Tricia, who is based in Melbourne, said she was excited to join the firm.

“Thomson Geer has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, commercially grounded advice,” she said. “I look forward to working with the team to support clients across their financing, restructuring and growth objectives.”

Tricia's appointment comes at a time when Thomson Geer has been strengthening its Banking & Finance team, and follows the appointment of Partner Chuong Nguyen and Special Counsel Ellen Adianto in October 2025.
