Thomson Geer advises Marimaca Copper on A$80M international capital raising

September 12, 2025

Thomson Geer has advised copper exploration and development company Marimaca Copper Corp. on a brokered placement of new CHESS Depository Interests in Australia and other countries to raise A$80 million.

The capital raising will be used to progress detailed design and engineering and project related workstreams at its Marimaca Oxide Deposit in Chile, exploration at the Pampa Medina Project and Marimaca sulphide target, and for general corporate purposes.

Thomson Geer advised Marimaca on the Australian legal aspects of the placement to institutional and sophisticated investors and existing shareholders.

The Thomson Geer team was led by Partner Michael Ng, who said: "We are pleased to have advised Marimaca since its listing on ASX and to support Marimaca on this significant capital raising in the Australian market that will further progress work on its key copper project."

The team also included Partner Josh Simons, Special Counsel Cameron Bill, Law Graduate Eliza Parnell and Paralegal Oliver Byrnes-Howe.

The placement was strongly supported by both new institutional and sophisticated investors and existing shareholders.

Thomson Geer advised Marimaca on its dual listing on the ASX in April 2025. Marimaca is also listed on Canada's TSX.
