Thomson Geer has advised Adelaide Airport Limited on all aspects of the sale of Igneo Infrastructure Partners’ 15.26% shareholding in Adelaide Airport to existing shareholders UniSuper and IFM Investors.
Igneo, a global infrastructure manager, had been a shareholder in Adelaide Airport since the airport’s privatisation in 1998. Its 27-year journey with Adelaide Airport comes to a close following completion of the transaction.
The Thomson Geer team worked closely with all parties to navigate a complex negotiation process.
The transaction took place amid record passenger volumes and strong financial performance at Adelaide Airport, underpinned by the strength of the South Australian economy and Adelaide’s growing international network.
The team was led by Partner Annabel West, who said: "We are pleased to work with Adelaide Airport on this significant update to its shareholder register as the airport moves forward on plans for expansion."
The team also included Partner Tony Saint and Senior Associate Hugo MacMillan.
The consolidation of ownership coincides with the airport’s $600 million “Project Flight” infrastructure upgrade, which will deliver a series of terminal expansion projects over the next five years. Thomson Geer's Construction team is advising Adelaide Airport on the project.
