Matthew Reynolds is a Partner in Thomson Geer’s Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions teams.

Matthew’s key areas of focus are mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity capital markets, private equity and corporate advisory. He has particular expertise advising clients in the energy and resources, technology, agriculture, construction and manufacturing sectors.

He approaches transactions with a level of commercial insight and acumen gained historically through both his in-house roles with clients across multiple sectors and his hands-on role on boards of both ASX listed and unlisted companies.

His practice includes a significant cross-border element, particularly inbound investment to Australia from capital markets investors and business owners in the United States and Asia.

Advising Fetch Metals Limited with equity capital funding in an amount of A$33 million to cover the first instalment of the purchase price of A$53 million for the acquisition of the significant copper assets of Queensland Mining Corporation Limited. Acting on the preparation of the capital investment suite of documents comprising a subscription agreement for equity capital, the securityholders arrangements and the acquisition documentation.

eCargo Holdings

Advising eCargo Holdings Limited on its acquisition of 85% of Metcash Export Services Pty Ltd. This successful acquisition allows ECG to create a one-stop offering for the businesses intent on capturing the attention of China’s growing consumer market – both online and via traditional brick and mortar stores.

Aussie Traveller

Acting for Aussie Traveller Pty Ltd, a 100% Australian owned and operated company, manufacturing and supplying products to the Caravan and RV Industry on its sale to investment firm, Seneca Capital.

Advising Licella Holding Limited on a joint venture, Arbios Biotech with Canadian Forest Products Ltd, with a vision to provide low-carbon circular economy solutions around the world.

Advising ASX-listed packaging and recycling company PACT Group Limited in its acquisition of Synergy Packaging from international packaging company Berry Global Group. Acting on all aspects of the transaction, including engagement with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

Advising the Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation on the establishment of a renewable energy project partnership in Western Australia with ACEN Corp worth more than A$1 billion.
