He has acted for all of the major Australian trading banks, as well as various local regional and foreign banks, investment banks and numerous private credit financiers.
David also acts for various funds (including registered and unregistered managed investment schemes) and corporate and SME borrowers in connection with all of their debt funding requirements.
He advises lenders and borrowers in relation to a wide range of financing arrangements, including bilateral and syndicated facilities, investment and construction finance, acquisitions and leveraged transactions, business and cash flow lending and asset finance.
David has expertise in a range of sectors, including property, construction, hospitality and accommodation, health and aged care and professional services.
David is an expert in personal property securities law and the application of unfair contract laws to small business.
David has considerable commercial experience, having practised as a management accountant with Unilever Australia before working in the legal industry.
He understands the financial implications of the transactions he executes on behalf of clients and is able to simplify legal concepts and risks, and identify their financial effect, in terms that his clients are able to understand.
David brings this commercial expertise to his work for some of Australia’s largest banks and financial institutions and regularly presents to these clients on legal developments affecting their business.
