Craig is experienced in all areas of planning, development, environment, contaminated land, heritage, water, pollution, waste, compulsory acquisition, and workplace health and safety law.

He is also experienced in the preparation and conduct of litigation in the NSW Land & Environment Court and other specialist Courts and Tribunals across Australia.

Craig has valuable 'in-house' experience gained through senior positions at top ASX 100 listed companies, including being the secretary to Health Safety and Environment committees of boards and senior management teams. He combines his commercial experience with practical know-how to guide clients through the myriad of planning and environment laws, drawing on his network of professionals to advance client endeavours.

Experience

Litigation

Acting for a nursing home foundation in litigation in the Land and Environment Court of NSW. The Court's decision approves a large high-care residential aged care facility with a capital investment value over $25 million.

Planning matters

Critical infrastructure, Part 3A approvals, transitional approvals and s75W modifications under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

Contamination and remediation

Advising a range of downstream petroleum, mining, industrial, property developer and financial institution clients, and a retirement village in relation to contamination and remediation, including under the Contaminated Land Management Act 1997.

Compulsory acquisition

Acting for dispossessed land and business owners in Class 3 compulsory acquisition matters in the LEC and the NSW Court of Appeal for infrastructure projects, including: M7 orbital, Pacific Highway upgrade, WestConnex, Northwest, Sydney Metro and Southwest light rail and the Parramatta light rail.

EPA prosecutions

Acting for industrial and mining clients in relation to Environment Protection Authority prosecutions in the Land & Environment Court (LEC) and other enforcement matters.
