Arj is a Partner in the firm's Corporate group in Sydney, with a core focus on the Hospitality, Gaming & Leisure sector.  He provides strategic legal counsel across a broad spectrum of matters, combining deep industry knowledge with a multidisciplinary legal background.

Having worked across several practice areas including commercial advisory, M&A, liquor and gaming licensing, property and disputes, Arj's diverse experience enables him to support both private and public companies in a broad range of matters, particularly those operating in the dynamic and highly regulated hospitality and leisure industries.

Arj has developed a trusted reputation advising registered clubs servicing the team’s extensive client portfolio including sporting, RSL and workers clubs on a wide range of matters. These include corporate governance, commercial contracting, development projects, company meetings, amalgamations, acquisitions, and regulatory compliance with liquor, liquor and clubs legislation.  His advice is grounded in a practical understanding of the commercial realities facing businesses in this space.

In addition, Arj advises corporate clients on business acquisitions, joint ventures, hotel management agreements, capital raisings and other complex transactions within the hospitality sector and adjacent industries such as retail and manufacturing.

Arj is a regular and well-regarded speaker at industry conferences and seminars, frequently presenting on legal and regulatory developments affecting the hospitality sector including for organisations such as ClubsNSW and the RSL & Services Clubs Association. In recognition of his early contributions to the profession, he was named a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards in 2018.

Beyond his legal career, Arj is an active performer and contributor to Australia's arts and cultural sector. He was recognised by Australia Council as an Arts Leader (2020-2021); and is an award-winning composer, having received the 2022 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Original Score.  His creative work has been featured at major festivals including Sydney Festival, Sydney Sacred Music Festival and Castlemaine Festival. He currently serves on the board of Belvoir St Theatre.

Assisting Australian gaming venue software company Venue Digital Technology in its acquisition of Tabcorp (ASX:TAH) subsidiary eBet for A$62 million.
