Aimee specialises in advising high net wealth individuals and large private corporate groups in relation to complex tax matters, succession and asset protection concerns and implementing effective tax, estate and commercial strategies.

She advises on all areas of private client law and with a particular focus on developing and implementing specific business and personal succession strategies and advising on commercial solutions for her clients.

Aimee engages in a wide range of estate planning and related work including the development and implementation of highly customised and unique estate plans.

Matters include personal family group planning aspects such as the gift of certain assets on death, but also the development and implementation of complex estate plans to deal with business succession, and also intergenerational wealth distribution and asset protection and the increasing issues posed by early onset dementia and related conditions.  

Aimee also addresses the challenges of accommodating the competing interests of blended families and mitigating the risks of future family provision claims.

Experience

Private corporate group

Acting for a private corporate group in a $400m insurance claim, provision of tax and commercial advice, including making submissions to the ATO and representing the client in ATO discussions as to the dissection of the insurance proceeds between capital and income.

Estate and tax planning

Acting for a client with a total asset pool exceeding $200m, to advise and develop a strategy to dissolve these assets within corporate and trust structures on certain life/major events.

Will preparation

Preparation of Wills and related estate documents with global or separate testamentary trusts. We are experienced in developing unique conditions and limitations on the distribution and vesting of capital and income to certain beneficiaries on the attainment of relevant contingencies.

Asset protection

Provision of advice regarding effective asset protection and tax planning strategies in relation to the proposed distribution of the significant assets of a family trust. Of note the assets were to be distributed between the second generation of beneficiaries of the trust.

Family law tax advice

Provision of tax advice for a large family law matter with the total asset pool of the marriage was approximately $50 million and spread across 18 different entities, including the attendance at mediation, preparation of consent orders and corporate documents, estate planning and asset protection advice.
