Thomson Geer congratulates Richard Crookes Constructions (RCC) and the team as work on the A$780 million Sydney Biomedical Accelerator project officially gets underway.
Stakeholders in the project, which is set to transform Australia’s medical research and translation landscape, recently held a ground breaking ceremony to mark the start of construction.
Thomson Geer is pleased to have advised builder Richard Crookes Constructions throughout the competitive tender process to build the facility, which will have a total floorspace of over 36,000 square metres and include cutting-edge wet laboratories, a state-of-the-art biobank, clean rooms for prototyping medical products for clinical trials, high-performance computing and specialised facilities for microscopy, imaging, bioinformatics, genetic, cell and protein research.
Construction Partner Franco Aversa led the Thomson Geer team advising RCC on the design and construction contract as well as assisting on procurement arrangements for the project.
"We are pleased to have worked with the team at Richard Crookes Constructions and be part of a project that will advance medical research and ultimately have a huge impact on medicines and treatment for people," Franco said.
Franco was supported by Consultant Geoff Wood and Lawyers Erin Mack, Zoe Mountakis and Rachel Zhang.
RCC is an independent and Australian owned business with a strong track record in health and life sciences builds.
