Aged Care Legislation Updates Retirement Villages

We recently posted about the Serious Incident Response Scheme (Scheme) and the important aspects that Approved Providers should keep in mind. The Aged Care Legislation Amendment (Serious Incident Response Scheme and Other Measures) Bill 2020 has now passed both houses of parliament and is awaiting assent. Approved Providers should be aware that the Scheme will very shortly become law and the Scheme is planned to start on 1 April 2021.

The Scheme will bring about significant changes in terms of incident management and reporting obligations. Partners Julie McStay and Lucinda Smith from our aged care team will be running a webinar on 24 February 2021 on the Scheme and what providers can do to ready themselves for the changes. Thomson Geer clients are encouraged to attend the webinar. To register, please click here.
