- This Modern Award previously did not have a redundancy clause; the new standard clause has now been inserted.
- If an employee is transferred to lower paid duties because of the redundancy of their role and the employer does not provide notice, the employer must make up the difference in pay for the notice period. This is expressed to include the difference in any all-purpose allowance, shift rate and penalty rate applicable to ordinary hours.
- The redundancy clause now makes it clear that an employee may resign during the minimum notice period the employer must give them that their employment will end due to redundancy. However, if they do so, they are not entitled to be paid for the balance of the notice period.
- An employee is entitled to take up to one day off without loss of pay each week of the minimum notice period for the purpose of seeking other employment.
