Roger Mattar has more than 25 years’ experience in property, leasing, banking and finance and commercial law, ranging from complex legal issues to transactional work.

Roger acts for a variety of clients in each of these areas of law from large institutional entities, banks, property developers and joint venture partners to insolvency practitioners. He has significant expertise in drafting and advising on loan and security documents, property and leasing documents and in the sale and purchase of a variety of businesses and assets. Roger represents property developers in the acquisition and negotiation of property acquisitions, development (joint venture) agreements and other property matters. He also acts for a number of clients in a variety of leasing transactions (both as tenant and landlord) on a national basis.

Roger Mattar’s recent experience includes:

  • Negotiating and settling a public company lease of its head office premises in Sydney including fit out contracts and related agreements.
  • Acting and advising a private property owner of several industrial leased sites on conveyances, agreements for lease, leases, surrender of premises and concurrent lease arrangements.
  • Negotiating and advising in relation to the project funding documentation and requirements for the development (which included the construction of a golf course) of a new precinct in Western Sydney with funding of $147 million. The project involved negotiation terms of the security documents, joint venture security and old system (qualified) title with several lots. 
  • Acted for a developer in its acquisition of a development site with complex long-term leasing issues, escrow amounts, complex easements (including the advice and the removal of those easements), dedication of land to Council and the negotiation of a voluntary planning agreement in the north of Sydney’s CBD.
