Philip de Haan has more than 20 years’ experience in taxation and superannuation law, including nine years with the Australian Taxation Office.
Philip advises on all aspects of taxation, including advising on income tax, capital gains tax, GST and stamp duty for buying and selling businesses and companies, restructuring corporate and trust groups, tax concessions, and structuring development vehicles and advising on tax aspects for major developments.
In relation to superannuation, Philip advises employers, employer-sponsored funds, and self managed superannuation funds.
In relation to estate and business succession planning, Philip advises clients with a range of structures on how best to implement their wishes, taking into account particular superannuation, taxation, trust and corporations law issues, and asset protection aspects.
Philip de Haan’s recent experience includes:
- Advised health, educational, charitable, and religious groups on obtaining federal, state and territory revenue concessions for restructuring of their tax exempt entities and dealing with revenue authorities to obtain concessions.
- Advised on the taxation aspects of US residents establishing an Australian company to own a foreign company with business activities in the Middle East.
- Advised on the structure of the acquisition and financing of a US company’s acquisition of an Australian enterprise.
- Advised on the taxation aspects of a tax exempt organisation acquiring a taxable company operating a hospital.
