Peta Thompson has corporate advisory and mergers and acquisitions experience.
She acts for major Australian and international companies across a range of industries, including the arts and entertainment, sports, retirement village and property sectors. She has advised on both domestic and cross-border transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, partnerships, joint ventures and restructures.
Peta also provides general corporate and commercial advice in relation to issues ranging from compliance with the Corporations Act, the ASX Listing Rules and the Competition and Consumer Act through to the drafting and negotiation of a wide variety of contracts.
Peta was acknowledged by The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific (2018 & 2019) for her work in the Corporate and M&A space, where she has been quoted as “committed, empathetic“. She has also been recognised by her peers as one of the Best Lawyers in Australia (2021) in the area of Mergers & Acquisitions.

- Acted for Village Roadshow Limited (ASX:VRL) on the sale of its 50% stake in the Singapore cinema exhibition business, Golden Village, top Orange Sky Golden Harvest Entertainment (Holdings) Limited (SEHK: 1132), owner of the other 50% of Golden Village.
- Assisted Hawthorn Football Club with the detailed review of its governance arrangements to take into account changes in corporate governance practices, technology and legislation and on its membership terms and conditions.
