Lachlan McCullough joined the firm in 2011, and has more than 10 years’ experience in workers compensation, common law claims, statutory benefits, public liability and self-insurance.

Lachlan undertakes work on behalf of the Victorian WorkCover Authority (VWA), its authorised insurers and employers in a range of matters including serious injury applications, common law claims, damages proceedings and statutory benefits claims.  Lachlan also has a broad range of experience in dealing with different types of claims ranging from physical injuries, psychiatric conditions, and diseases.  His work covers a range of different industries including transport, retail, construction, banking and hospitality, and provides specialised advice to employers in relation to WorkCover Premiums and Penalties.

Lachlan is a skilled negotiator and is able to achieve early resolutions on the best possible terms for his clients.   As an experienced litigator, Lachlan has successfully managed a range of complex proceedings, including multi-party matters and proceedings under Part III of the Wrongs Act.

In addition, Lachlan works for a range of self-insurers including Wesfarmers, Woolworths and ANZ, specialising in providing strategic advice and comprehensive settlement solutions in order to finalise ongoing statutory liability of self-insured clients.  Lachlan provides a high level of service to his clients, responding quickly to their changing needs and specific business requirements.

Lachlan specialises in dependency claims, on behalf of both the VWA and self-insurers, dealing with complex claims in a sensitive and pragmatic way.  Lachlan also has extensive experience conducting judicial review matters in the Supreme Court as both applicant and respondent, and providing prompt advice in relation to Medical Panel opinions and impairment benefit claims.

Lachlan has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), Bachelor of Arts and has also completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at Leo Cussen.
