Public Sector Newsletter – Victoria (Issue 14)

6 June 2017

The past fortnight saw the Supreme Court rule the detaining of children at the Barwon maximum security adult prison was unlawful. A link to the decision and links to some commentary on the decision form part of this newsletter.

Over the past fortnight the Victorian Government also renewed Justice Garde’s appointment as President of VCAT and appointed another County Court Judge, this time from the Magistrates’ Court.

The past fortnight also saw the Productivity Commission release a report detailing ways governments might engage with the public to generate community understanding of the costs, risks and benefits associated with data sharing and use. We hope you enjoy our fourteenth Victorian Public Sector Newsletter.
