The long running trial against former State Ministers Ian Macdonald and Eddie Obeid, and Moses Obeid, has finished in the NSW Supreme Court. Arising from the Independent Commission Against Corruption public inquiry, the Crown’s case is that these individuals conspired to commit misconduct in public office in relation to the award of a coal exploration licence at Mt Penny in the Bylong Valley. The case has involved over 70 days of hearing. The case is being defended.
