Welcome to Issue 71 of the Victorian Public Sector Newsletter.
Investigators dominate this fortnight’s Public Sector Newsletter with IBAC releasing a report into conflicts of interest, the Victoria Ombudsman releasing its Annual Report showing an increase in complaints and IBAC to hold public hearings into allegations of corruption at the Casey Council.
Meanwhile, the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner has released an on-line learning module.
The Government has announced significant reform of Victoria’s appeals system. The Government has also appointed Justice Lisa Nichols to the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Finally, in the Courts and Tribunals, the Supreme Court considered the review of a Medical Panel opinion, an appeal from a VCAT decision in relation to the Building Act 1993 and the review of a decision by the Secretary to the Department of Justice and Regulation to refuse an application for emergency management days. VCAT also considered an alleged breach of information privacy principles.
