Publications

In this edition of the Public Sector Newsletter, Victoria Police have warned far right groups are recruiting wellness groups and anti-vaxxers online. Meanwhile, new data suggests Victoria’s Racial and Religious Tolerance Act may be failing those it is designed to protect.  Coroner Jacqui Hawkins has recommended an overhaul of drug support programs in Victorian prisons to reduce the number of Victorians who overdose on release.  This comes as legislation passes to decriminalise public drunkenness.

In the Courts, the Supreme Court has undertaken judicial review of directions a plaintiff submit to a urine test and strip search and a Medical Panel Determination of significant injury under the Wrongs Act.  The Court has also opined on the scope of discovery and the right to redact.

We hope you enjoy this edition of our Victorian Public Sector Newsletter.
