The High Court has ruled on a significant case examining an employer’s duty of psychosocial care to employees. The Kozarov v Victoria decision outlines the duties of employers relating to mental health in the workplace.
Meanwhile, the Federal Election has been called for May 21 and the Victorian Public Sector Commission has reminded public servants of their obligations at election time. It says public servants must apply the code of conduct and “remain impartial, apolitical and professional at all times” to maintain “the confidence of the Government, members of Parliament and the wider community”.
The Victorian Auditor-General’s Office has recommended a review of government advertising campaign laws after reviewing two campaigns. It made a number of recommendations including that the laws be reviewed, there be stronger oversight of government advertising, and better evaluation and reporting of advertising cost-effectiveness.View PDF
