Social media content creators known as “finfluencers” could end up in jail or with a
$1 million fine if they don’t shut down for providing unlicensed financial advice. ASIC’s crackdown on unlicensed financial advice has seen finfluencers scramble to take down posts, but there are concerns the new guidelines don’t go far enough to protect consumers.

Eligible non-government organisations (NGOs) are being encouraged to get ready to apply for the next round of grant funding under the Australian Government’s Online Safety Grants Program. Guidance is now available on the eSafety website on the requirements and process for grant applications.
