Thomsons Lawyers acted as Australian counsel to The Valspar Corporation in relation to its funding facilities for the acquisition of Australian paint manufacturer Wattyl Limited.
The Thomsons Lawyers’ team was led by Dan Kramer. The Valspar Corporation is a global leader in the paint and coatings industry with 9500 employees in more than 25 countries.
Under terms of the transaction, Valspar acquired all outstanding Wattyl shares for approximately $142 million and assumed existing debt. Wattyl had 2009 sales of $381.4 million.
