Thomsons has commenced a National Negotiation and Mediation skills training programme for its lawyers.  The programme, which is being delivered by international dispute resolution firm The Accord Group, will be rolled out over an extended period (and from year to year) and is intended to enhance the negotiation skills of corporate and property lawyers and the specialist alternative dispute resolution skills of disputes lawyers across Thomsons’ four national offices.

The initial two day programme held earlier this month and facilitated by David Newton and Stephanie Papapavlou from The Accord Group, saw Partners and Senior Associates from our national Corporate and Disputes teams engage in a day of negotiation skills training, before the Disputes lawyers moved into a second day focussed on mediation skills.

The initial programme has been designed to include a further three days of training that will also be facilitated by The Accord Group for those Disputes lawyers who aspire to accreditation as mediators under the National Mediation Accreditation Scheme.
