Commercial law firm Thomson Playford Cutlers has appointed Adrian Tembel as Chief Executive Partner.
Based in Adelaide, the 39 year old Mr Tembel has been Thomson Playford Cutlers’ National Corporate Department Head for the past two years and has been with the firm for almost 17 years. He also served on the Board for 2 years, from 2002 – 2004.
“Adrian’s experience, leadership skills, intimate knowledge of the firm and business acumen made him the ideal choice to steer Thomson Playford Cutlers’ future growth,” Thomson Playford Cutlers Chair Loretta Reynolds said.
Mr Tembel takes over from Brett Goodridge who held the position of Chief Executive Officer. After four and a half years with the firm and having completed his tenure, Mr Goodridge was keen to return home to Perth to pursue other business interests.
“The Board considered both internal and external applicants for Brett’s successor,” Ms Reynolds said.
“It was the Board’s view that appointing someone who has built a career with the firm and has an unrivalled understanding of our business was critical. Adrian’s appointment was a unanimous vote by partners.
Mr Tembel said he was pleased to accept the position of Chief Executive Partner.
“I am delighted to take over the reins of a modern and progressive firm that has built an enviable reputation for providing outstanding legal expertise,” Mr Tembel said.
“Thomson Playford Cutlers enjoys a strong presence in three states and despite the uncertain economic times, the firm retains a positive outlook for the future.
“Our offices in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney are all performing well and the Thomson Playford Cutlers brand has never been stronger.
“We have a sound, critical mass of competence in our core areas of focus.
“We believe we have a compelling value proposition to offer the market.
“Our absolute focus is on our clients and to ensure we continue to deliver value to our clients.
“We pride ourselves on our high partner access.
“We want the market to view our partners as indispensable to the business.”
