Thomson Geer has welcomed two key Sydney disputes Partners, Harold Werksman and Sylvia Fernandez, to the firm. Along with Harold and Sylvia, two key Senior Associates, Jodi Walkom and Nicholas Riordan, and two lawyers have joined the firm.
Harold, Sylvia and the team join Thomson Geer’s Sydney office with more than 56 years’ combined experience from Holding Redlich’s litigation and dispute resolution team.
Until recently, Harold was Holding Redlich’s national dispute resolution team leader, where he built the firm’s Sydney disputes team over a period of 18 years. Harold is an accredited commercial litigation and mediation specialist and practises with particular emphasis on corporate, commercial, contract interpretation and trade practices disputes. His clients include a big four accounting firm and several listed companies.
Sylvia is an experienced litigator, focusing on commercial and complex litigation, principally in the areas of contract and trade practices law. In recent years, she has led litigation representing major accounting firms, government and multi-national corporations.
The team have been involved in a number of high profile cases including City of Sydney v Streetscape Projects (Aust) Pty Limited & Moses Obeid and BlueScope Steel (AIS) Pty Limited ats OneSteel Manufacturing Pty Limited.
The firm’s latest lateral hires add further depth to the firm’s dispute resolution expertise.
