The not-for-profit Royal District Nursing Service (RDNS SA), part of national provider, Silver Chain Group, will take over as the new provider of South Australia’s previously government-managed Domiciliary Care Services before June 2018. In a team led by Partner, Loretta Reynolds, Thomson Geer advised Silver Chain Group on this transaction.
The South Australian State Government is moving Domiciliary Care Services provided in metropolitan Adelaide to non-government management. The decision follows national changes to the aged care system which mean the Commonwealth now funds aged care.
RDNS SA was selected as the new provider after a comprehensive tender process with significant input from Domiciliary Care’s clients and staff.
Domiciliary Care Services is one of the state’s largest providers of in-home care services for older South Australians, with more than 9,500 clients across Metropolitan Adelaide.
RDNS SA is a highly-regarded not-for-profit community health and care services provider. Nationally, the Silver Chain Group’s 3,500 staff deliver services and support to more than 98,000 people of all ages.
