Thomson Geer has assisted remote power generation company Pacific Energy to add hydrogen to its energy mix by acquiring ENGV, a business that provides hydrogen production and refuelling facilities.

The acquisition is part of Western Australia-based Pacific Energy’s strategy for national growth and adds the final piece to its renewable energy capability profile.

ENGV is based in Victoria and recognised as the market leader in green hydrogen and renewable gas services and solutions.

Hydrogen is widely tipped to play a role in global efforts to combat climate change by reducing carbon emissions and adopting renewable energy sources.

Thomson Geer Partner Hedley Roost, who advised Pacific Energy on the deal, said: “We’re pleased to have helped Pacific Energy achieve such an important milestone at a time of huge change for the energy sector.”

Law Graduate Yash Ghangas assisted Hedley in the matter.

Pacific Energy is owned by multi-billion dollar alternative investments manager QIC.
