Mr Simmons, the former Chairman of South Australia’s Economic Development Board and former Managing Director of listed company Hills Industries, will take up the position with Thomson Playford from 1 July 2008.

Thomson Playford Chairman of Partners Ms Loretta Reynolds said Mr Simmons’ level of experience, his strong business acumen and outstanding leadership qualities would make him a valuable Board member of the firm.

“We are very pleased to have someone of David’s calibre, experience and standing within the business community joining Thomson Playford,” Ms Reynolds said.

“David is one of South Australia’s most respected businessmen, has an outstanding track record of success and will no doubt make a valuable contribution to our firm as we continue on our national expansion path.”

“Thomson Playford has an enviable national reputation for providing high quality legal services and I look forward to playing my part in helping steer the firm along its current expansion path,” Mr Simmons said.
