Thomson Geer recently advised the City of Sydney, on what has been described as, one of the largest advertising contracts in Australian history. The City of Sydney selected QMS Media as the successful bidder for its internationally acclaimed Street Furniture and Outdoor Media Services Contract, a contract which was previously held by JCDecaux since the late 1990s.
QMS Media has been appointed to design, manufacture, install and maintain a wide range of street furniture assets including bus shelters, kiosks, benches, public toilets and communications pylons. The street furniture will be equipped with advertising panels and QMS Media will be responsible for selling that advertising space to advertisers.
QMS Media has been appointed for a term of 10 years, with an option for a five year extension.
The Thomson Geer team was led by Partners, Mark Feetham and Demetrios Christou, and supported by Partner, John Howard, Associate, Diane Sargeant, Lawyer, Nicholas Vardanega and Law Graduate, Chloe Tutt.
Thomson Geer partner Mark Feetham said, “We congratulate the City of Sydney on the signing of the Street Furniture and Outdoor Media Services Contract with QMS Media. A great result for the City given COVID and the changes that have occurred in the outdoor advertising industry during the tender and negotiation process.”
