Shaun has 22 years of experience, with a focus on corporate governance. He has advised and assisted directors, boards and corporations in areas of legal compliance, directors’ duties, disclosure obligations, governance and best practice.
In addition, Shaun has significant experience providing commercial strategic advice to corporations in chemical manufacture, logistics, aged care, manufacturing and advertising in relation to commercial disputes, corporate and partnership disputes, contractual arrangements, confidential information, competition and consumer law.
Shaun has also worked extensively advising major Australian banks and second tier lenders in relation to their asset management portfolio. He works with his clients to identify risks and provides tailored advice to ensure resolution of disputes in a prompt and effective manner.
Shaun is an accredited mediator, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and ‘Harvard Business School, Executive Program’ Making Corporate Boards More Effective.
Shaun has been recognised by his peers as one of the Best Lawyers in Australia in the area of Insolvency and Reorganization law (2019).
Recent experience includes:
- Dispute in County Court of Victoria relating to an application to set aside an expert valuation of livestock.
- Acting for a major financial institution in Supreme Court of Victoria and Federal Court of Australia proceedings relating to breach of confidence, use of trade secrets, breach of contract, and defamation.
- Acting for major Australian banking groups in numerous recovery actions, including secured and unsecured debts and recovery of money and assets out of commercial or finance transactions.
