Paul has more than 20 years’ experience in employment related law.
Paul acts for clients across many industries advising employers on employment law and occupational health and safety matters. He also focuses on assisting employers in solving work placement problems, with an emphasis on avoiding disputes and costly litigation.
Paul’s expertise includes vast experience advising employers on all aspects of individual employment law, including the preparation of employment contracts, statutory compliance, award compliance, and the negotiation and making of enterprise agreements.
Paul also has expertise in occupational health and safety compliance and has successfully defended a number of occupational health and safety prosecutions for employers across Australia.
Paul is the author of a number of publications on employment law and occupational health and safety.
He regularly conducts training on various aspects of employment related and occupational health and safety issues.
Paul has recently been recognised by The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific (2018) and recommended for his work in Labour and Employment law.
Paul has been recognised as a leading Victorian Workplace Health & Safety lawyer in Doyle’s Guide (2016 – 2017), and is also a recommended Australian Workplace Health & Safety lawyer (Doyle’s Guide, 2017).
Recent experience includes:
- Advising a national public sector employer on its strategy on enterprise bargaining.
- Acting for a LNG sector employer regarding its use of greenfields enterprise agreements.
- Advising a manufacturer on the design and implementation of its drug and alcohol program.
