Thomsons has acted for Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, an independent not-for-profit organisation, in relation to the provision of world-class integrated cancer services in a new purpose-built facility.
This month an historic agreement was signed between Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and the Sydney Local Health District for the provision of public patient services in this facility. This partnership is the first of its kind in Australia, and will result in one of the most significant cancer treatment and research facilities in Australia.
The purpose-built new $260 million Lifehouse facility will see the integration of clinical services, cancer research, education and integrative medicine, with a philosophy that puts the patient at the centre of everything, and constantly strives for improved care and outcomes. It will have a strong focus on educating future generations of cancer clinicians.
Construction began on the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in 2010, and this month’s agreement means the first stage of services will commence on November 18 this year.
