In a sign of confidence in the State economy and its Adelaide office, law firm Thomson Playford Cutlers is relocating to new purpose-built offices on 17 November 2008.
The firm will occupy four floors of the new seven-storey A-grade office building located at 19 Gouger Street, opposite the Supreme Court in the heart of Adelaide’s legal district.
Thomson Playford Cutlers’ Chairman of Partners, Ms Loretta Reynolds, said the move had been prompted by the firm’s strong growth in recent years and a need for more modern facilities.
“This relocation involves a significant investment on behalf of the firm. It’s our vote of confidence in the South Australian legal services market and economy in general,” Ms Reynolds said.
“Our core areas of expertise are closely linked to business activity levels in this State whether that be legal services relating to energy and resources, banking and finance, construction and infrastructure or mergers and acquisitions. Like many professional services firms, we are always looking at recruitment to facilitate our growth potential.”
The move to new premises follows hot on the heels of the merger between Thomson Playford and Sydney-based firm Cutler Hughes & Harris on September 1 this year. The combined firm – Thomson Playford Cutlers – now comprises more than 280 staff, with 120 of those based in Adelaide.
The new Gouger Street building has adopted the principles of ecological sustainability and best practice in office design to achieve a 5-star Green Star Rating.
