This week, Thomson Geer partner, Adam Brooks, stood side by side with Big Issue vendor, Darren, selling copies of The Big Issue in the Melbourne CBD, to help shine a spotlight on homeless and disadvantaged men and women who are working to improve their lives and re-enter employment.
Vendors buy copies of The Big Issue for $3.50 and sell them for $7, earning a meaningful income.
This initiative is part of The Big Issue magazine’s International Vendor Week campaign. During one week in early February, more than 100 business and government leaders show their support by donning The Big Issue fluoro vest and selling copies of the magazine alongside vendors. The Big Issue hopes to boost sales to put $100,000 into vendors’ pockets for the edition coinciding with International Vendor Week.
Good luck to Darren and all The Big Issue vendors – you do a wonderful job!
