Campsie RSL Club is currently creating a master plan for the development of its large landholding at Campsie NSW, and Thomson Geer has been appointed as legal advisors for this significant proposed project.
The Master Plan for the project will provide for an extended range of uses that will include seniors and apartment living, basement car parking, specialty shops, a fitness centre, childcare facility and medical centre, alongside an expanded Club facility, with an estimated construction cost of $115 million.
In another project of note, in October 2015 the Bankstown RSL marked a significant milestone in its 85 year history with the lodgement of a development application for its new $75 million purpose built venue on land owned by the Club adjacent to its current premises. If all goes to plan, construction of the new Club will commence in April 2016, with completion due around April 2017. The new venue will offer a range of dining options presented in a food court style, as well as 120 rooms of hotel accommodation. Thomson Geer has been engaged to advised the Club on all aspects of the new development and this comes on top of the sale and leaseback of its current premises for $67 million (including the vendor finance and security aspects of the transaction) which we also advised on.
Thomson Geer has worked with Bankstown RSL in the initial stages of this new development, and if it is approved, will continue to be the legal advisers for the duration of the project over the coming two to three years.
