Thomson Geer has advised Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited (DPE) on its entry into the Danish market through its €2.5 million acquisition of the company-owned stores and other assets of Domino’s Pizza Scandinavia, which entered into administration in March and has ceased trading. Thomson Geer Partner, Eugene Fung and Lawyer, Thomas Gardner, worked as lead counsel with local Danish counsel DLA Piper Copenhagen, as legal advisers for DPE.

The acquisition represents an additional growth platform for DPE’s European operations, increasing the future store count target in Europe by 150 stores.  DPE expects to restart operations in Denmark with approximately 20 corporate stores and a small number of franchise stores within the next year. DPE will use its business know-how to carefully reinvigorate operations in Denmark which will be led by senior executives within DPE Europe.

Eugene Fung said: ‘We congratulate DPE on its entry into the Danish market and are delighted to have worked with DPE on this transaction, which consolidates its position as the leading pizza brand across Europe.’
