Dallas Buyers Club LLC has abandoned its battle against alleged copyright infringers in Australia. A Thomson Geer team led by Partner Graham Phillips has been acting for the ISPs on this matter, including iiNet, Dodo, Amcom, and Wideband Networks. The case has attracted national media attention as the ISP’s have vigorously defended against pressure to reveal individual customers’ information.
Dallas Buyers Club LLC had until 11 February to lodge an application for leave to appeal against the Federal Court decisions which prevented it from engaging in so-called “speculative invoicing” in Australia. It failed to meet this deadline, effectively ending its legal bid.
